Bar Harbor Bank & Trust is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our team in for the right candidate, consideration may be given to a hybrid or remote position within our footprint in ME, NH, and VT. Responsibilities will consist of cash management, investment accounting, financial reporting activities and assisting with special projects.

Responsibilities:

+ Monitor and maintain cash balances and borrowings on a daily basis.

+ Record and reconcile daily investments activity.

+ Assist in the preparation of all SEC filings including earnings releases, 10-Qs, 10-Ks, and other forms and reports.

+ Prepare journal entries and various reconciliations identifying and resolving issues, if any.

+ Provide timely information and assistance to customers (internal and external).

+ General backup support within the Accounting/Finance department.

+ Participate in special projects within department and/or cross functionally.

+ Enthusiastically support the Bank’s Guiding Principles and Brand Behaviors.

+ Adhere to regulatory requirements, such as Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Act.

+ Comprehend and adhere to federal banking regulations in accordance with Bar Harbor Bank & Trust’s policies and procedures.

Required Education & Experience:

+ Public accounting or relevant experience.

+ A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

+ Proficient Microsoft Excel skills are required.

+ Must have ability to work as a positive team member with critical attention to detail in a fast paced, high volume environment.

+ Strong organizational and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow.

+ Strong attention to detail.

+ Ability to work effectively and independently.

+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially excel.

+ Comfortable working with and quickly learning computer applications.
