Job Description
The primary responsibility of the position is to support all manners of operation and maintenance of the highway and parks and recreation facilities. For general understanding of the job requirements, the highway and parks and recreation work areas generally include all roads; sidewalks; drainage networks; fleet; public right-of-way; signage; buildings and grounds; parking lots; leaf and metal piles; trash cans; parks and recreation facilities; cemeteries; trees; comfort stations; beaches; boat ramps and launches; benches; parking meters; special projects; and special events. The work consists of, but is not limited to, manual labor, operation of lighter equipment (e.g., sweeper, sidewalk plow, vibratory machine, chain saw, leaf blower, trap rake, etc.); operation of heavy (“non-articulated” for Maintenance Worker B and “articulated” for Maintenance Worker A) trucks for hauling, snow plowing, and snow removal.
