The Communications Freelance Writer writes and edits content for the Corporate Communications & Public Relations teams team for internal and social use. The ideal candidate will have experience writing for various media and writing pieces of varying lengths. The writer will take existing content and develop into new articles, or will interview subject matter experts to write new articles on a number of subjects including business and product profiles, industry trends, human interest pieces, organizational changes, leader messaging, etc. The writer will also edit content. This role works in at the direction of PCG’s internal and external communications leaders as well as the Corporate Director of Communications and Public Relations.

PCG is hiring multiple freelance writers.

Primary Responsibilities

+ Write engaging copy and content for internal and external PCG audiences. Examples include campaign assets, marketing collateral, infographics, reports, web copy and email

+ Synthesize existing materials into engaging content or interview subject matter experts to produce various types of content

+ Edit and proofread content others have written

+ Participate in weekly or bi-weekly editorial meetings to receive, review, and submit assignments


+ 5+ year’s communications experience. Newsroom, advertising, direct marketing, or digital publishing experience preferred

+ Strong communication skills with experience writing for various mediums and ability to create content that is relevant to a variety of audiences

+ Self-starter, with strong multi-tasking skills

+ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to complete assigned projects and tasks according to established timelines

+ Ability to balance innovative approaches with business objectives

+ Clear, concise writer who can distill complex ideas into easily understood language.

+ Strong editing and proofreading skills

+ Experience with B2B or professional services (consulting) industry preferred

+ Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment

+ Familiarity with Chicago Style and working within corporate brand standards

+ Degree in communications, journalism, English, or related field

+ Interest or experience in government health, human services, or education agencies a plus



Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience.?As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $60,001-$70,001 . In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role. .
