Job Description

Catholic Charities Maine Education Services for Blind & Visually Impaired Children (ESBVIC) has an opening in the greater Portland area for a Driver/Reader. This person provides transportation to staff persons who are visually impaired and assists with reading and other visual tasks for which the staff person requires visual assistance. This position follows a school year calendar, including all school vacations, holidays, etc. The hours vary depending on staff schedule although is usually between 15-25 hours per week. We offer competitive pay and mileage reimbursement.
Eligible candidates shall have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, and the ability to read reports, letters, charts, and articles. Must be an experienced motor vehicle driver with a clean driving record and valid driver's license, maintain a safe and reliable vehicle, and show proof of vehicle insurance, current vehicle registration and current vehicle inspection. Smoking not allowed on site or at the workplace. Resumes will be accepted until position is filled.
