$7,000 Signing Bonus for Full-Time, New Hires


We are looking for a Dental Hygienist to help treat patients and promote good oral health practices. What do Dental Hygienists do? Under the general supervision of the Dentist, a Dental Hygienist's duties revolve around conducting initial patient screenings, cleaning teeth (e.g. removing plaque), and advising patients on oral health and preventative care. You’ll help dentists decide on treatments for teeth or gum diseases and handle dental emergencies. As a Dental Hygienist, you should be reliable and able to build trust with patients of all ages. You should have deep knowledge of relevant health and safety rules and a good eye for oral diseases and anomalies. If you have a steady hand and great bedside manner, we’d like to meet you.

Clinical Duties Include:

  • Performs all clinical services within professional competence/scope of practice and updated clinical skills.
  • Responsible for ensuring all clients treated receive the highest quality standard of care.
  • Provides assessment of dental needs of patients and directly implements the plan of care.
  • Responsible for practicing within the scope of a Dental Hygienist license to practice in the State of Maine. Refers patient care to the Dentist as needed.
  • Educates patients regarding their nutrition and dental health as necessary.
  • Maintains timely communication with patient/responsible party regarding follow-up of care and coordinates course of action.

Patient Care Duties Include:

  • Develops and maintains interpersonal relationships with patients and their families
  • Keeps patients’ information confidential and respects the right to privacy
  • Completes documentation requirements on a timely basis
  • Participates in the development of the practice through community involvement

Educational Duties Include:

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of current trends in the field of Dental Hygienist
  • Assumes responsibility for own continuing education.
  • Attends and participates in departmental meetings, as well as in-service programs offered by St. Mary’s Health System and others available for self-enrichment to maintain the highest quality of care.




  • Associates Degree Required
  • Maine Registered Dental Hygienist license is required.
  • BLS Required


  • 1-3 years previous experience preferred
