Spectrum provides services at many of Maine’s hospitals throughout the state and in eastern New Hampshire. POSITION SUMMARY Responsible for the design, testing, implementation and maintenance of custom applications and their related components in a multi-specialty physician healthcare organization. Leads and mentors in building and maintaining a wide variety of software applications and components; recommends, implements, and builds a strong data environment to support Company and divisional data needs. Applies an advanced understanding of healthcare technologies combined with modern software design to bring about an increasingly efficient, secure, and supportable portfolio of tools for our providers. Based on experience and qualifications the average annual compensation for this position will range from $126,000 – $148,000. PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Develops software solutions by studying information requirements; collaborate with users, analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes

+ Designs data flow, structure and storage for reporting and Business Intelligence (BI) needs

+ Builds, deploys, and manages custom applications in the cloud and support on-prem (legacy)

+ Plans and contributes to our cloud migration initiative: re-platform and/or re-engineer as appropriate.

+ Supports and mentors software engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities

+ Updates job knowledge by renewing state-of-the-art development tools, programming techniques, computing equipment, participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations

+ Provides recommendations to management concerning issues of software engineer productivity and software development methodology

+ Researches and recommends software tools to management

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Maintains personal adherence to professional and confidentiality standards established within the department and in accordance with legal, ethical, and internal policies

+ Attends meetings as assigned and participate in educational activities to keep skills up to date

+ Ensures development of strong positive relationships and collegiality among the organization’s resources and staff

+ Is proactive in identifying, and participating in the resolution of any potential or safety issues

QUALIFICATIONS

+ Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

+ 7+ years of development experience with Microsoft stack of technologies (.Net, Visual Studio/C#, SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS) and web development technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, MVC, CSS

+ 3+ years of experience with cloud technologies (Azure, AWS)

+ Experience with Terraform, GitHub, and cloud deployment tools is a plus

+ Experience with healthcare data and integration such as HL7, FHIR, DICOM is a plus

+ Mature grasp of modern software design principles including micro service architecture, client/server/distributed architecture, Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, IoC

+ Thrive in a team setting and enjoy problem-solving with others

+ Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language

+ Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT

+ This is a remote position with occasional visits to the office only

+ Weekend and night work is expected based on project and business requirements

+ Work environment includes computer-related noise levels

+ Continual use of computer keyboard, mouse, and other associated peripherals
