Job Description

Knox County Homeless Coalition (KCHC) is hiring a Donor Relations Specialist to be part of our dynamic Development team! 

Knox County Homeless Coalition offers comprehensive programs and services to adults, families, and youth in Midcoast Maine. We support community members through our wrap-around programming, including Comprehensive Case Management services, The Hospitality House Family Shelter, and The Landing Place Youth Program. Everything we do is delivered with respect, dignity and genuine caring, delivering on our promise of home, help and hope.

The Donor Relations Specialist should be passionate about the mission of KCHC and excited about contributing to the organization by supporting the growth of philanthropic relationships and revenue from individual donors, family foundations, and businesses. This individual will be an integral member of the Development department working directly with the Director of Development and in collaboration with the Executive Director, Development Committee, and Board. This position is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of philanthropic strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, with a focus on major donors who give at the five-figure level and above. This position will also help maintain and expand the overall philanthropic support of KCHC’s mission of breaking cycles of poverty and homelessness in Mid-coast Maine.

The ideal individual will have the proven ability to identify, research, and develop strategies to build relationships with philanthropic leaders. The Donor Relations Specialist will have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. They must be creative, resourceful, an excellent problem solver, highly organized, and able to set priorities and goals, as well as oversee execution. 

Qualified candidates for this position will have demonstrated experience, success, and progressive responsibility in fundraising with a minimum of three years experience. Capital campaign experience, a plus. Knowledge of basic computer skills; proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Suite, necessary.

This full time position will pay $60,000 - $70,000 a year, based on experience. KCHC offers a competitive salary and benefits package, which includes a choice of health coverage (including an employer-sponsored health savings account for Bronze level coverage), optional dental and vision insurance, employer-sponsored life and short term disability insurance, retirement plan with an employer contribution, paid time-off benefits, 13 paid holidays (including your birthday off, because you deserve it!), and additional time off in the summer.
