The Quality Inspector will perform product inspections, record inspection results, and recommend improvements to the production process.  The inspector will ensure in-process production and finished products meet all pertinent specifications to meet product and customer requirements. 



  • Visual and mechanical inspection of parts and product utilizing inspection records, bills of material, mechanical drawings and other forms of specifications, using pre-trained/determined methods for product acceptability.
  • Document non-conformances, including any deviations from company procedures/work instructions.
  • Utilize statistical guidelines and plans provided by the Quality Assurance team to determine a sampling plan for final inspection of product versus in-process inspection.
  • Inspect in-process production by confirming specifications and instructions, conducting visual and measurement tests where necessary, and communicating required adjustments to the production supervisor.
  • Approves finished products by confirming specifications, conducting visual and measurement tests, returning products for re-work, and confirming re-work.
  • Learn to follow proper procedures to perform inspection checks and verification of dimensions and make sure that Work Instructions are being followed.
  • Manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously.
  • Read blueprints, plans, and specifications to understand the requirements of products.
  • Support receiving inspection of suspect or new product from vendors
  • Recommend improvements to the production process to ensure quality control.
  • Document inspection outcomes by completing detailed reports and performance records.
  • Work with the production team about quality control concerns to improve product excellence.
  • Resolve quality-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Generate reports (charts/graphs) showing trends in internal inspection findings (and recommend areas for improvement based on the data).
  • Make every effort to focus on doing-it-right to make sure the customer is happy or satisfied with our units.
  • Provide value to our customers by using Lean tools and concepts to identify and eliminate waste in all forms (scrap/rework, transportation, motion, waiting, inventory, over production, over processing, and under-utilization of people). Uses systemic thinking by seeing processes from end to end and works to challenge the status quo to eliminate the root cause of problems. Is involved in individual and/or team activities that involve using Lean tools and concepts to improve the flow of information and material.
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Quality related Case Calls (customer complaints) for product defects and missing components/hardware
  • Internal final inspection and in-process inspection results
  • Goals for number of improvements to prevent internal findings or external escapes


  • Must be able to lift 10-20 lbs. frequently, and up to 50 lbs. periodically. 
  • Must be able to stand, stoop, crawl, climb or bend for up to 8 hours.
  • Must be able to stand/walk for 8 hours per day.
