This position performs Cancer Registry quality control to maintain industry standards and data accuracy. Collaborates with Oncology leaders to identify areas for quality improvement and assists in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives and projects. The position will analyze, evaluate, compile data and create specialized reports as requested by physicians, administrative staff and others, as well as assist other MaineHealth areas, such as Quality, IT and Business Development with analytics and accreditation reporting. Reviews, updates and submits timely, accurate data to state and national databases, and participates as a member of select committees as assigned.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Associates degree in Health Information, or related field (preferred)
License/Certifications: Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) certification
Experience: A minimum of 3 years of Cancer Registry experience (preferred)
Extensive knowledge of Cancer Registry coding principles
Strong understanding of CoC, NAPBC, NAPRC, QOPI accreditation standards
Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral formats.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines; ability to prioritize tasks appropriately.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
