Health and Human Services Department - Public Health Division

– Full-Time (37.5 hours/week), Project Position -

Seeking a qualified individual for a full-time project position with City of Portland Public Health Division’s Lead Poisoning Prevention and Tobacco Prevention Programs.  This grant funded position will assist in reducing exposure to tobacco in disparate populations through community education, policy, and environmental changes. In addition, this position will assist in reducing the risk of lead poisoning in young children in the greater Portland area through policy and environmental changes that encourage lead dust wipe testing, policy adoption, and community education.  Other responsibilities include program planning, implementation, evaluation, distribution of health promotion materials, and community outreach.  Position requires a bachelor’s degree in a public health-related field or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.  Experience in tobacco related policy or lead poisoning prevention and/or community health outreach work required.  Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences.  Offers of employment are contingent upon the successful completion of a satisfactory criminal background check. 

Pro-Tech Union – Grade 6 – Pay range starting at $23.33 per hour.
