PQC Metrology Specialist /Senior PQC Metrology Specialist
There is a regular, full-time position, available as a Process Quality Control Metrology Specialist/Senior Process Quality Control Metrology Specialist in Bar Harbor reporting directly to Christopher Dion. Responsibilities include:
Quality Control and Assurance: Responsible for testing and ensuring incoming and existing products meet a set of quality standards, establishing a sample schedule, assisting with determining the standards by which quality will be judged and/or establishing how products and processes will be improved to meet quality standards. The incumbent will use complex measurements and sophisticated test equipment and routinely make records of their findings. When defects are detected, the incumbent will assist and or facilitate corrective action and preventative action activities.
Metrology work: Responsible for maintaining, testing, troubleshooting, and calibrating a variety of analytical equipment and instrumentation for laboratory and clinical equipment. Identify and utilize appropriate measurement procedures. Adapt equipment, standards, and procedures to accomplish unique measurements. Rely on advanced quality and metrology knowledge as gained through time in position, manufacturer recommendations and technical support as well as industry research to accomplish this objective.
Process Improvement/R&D: Assist the Quality department in assessing current practices and new technologies to assure current testing methodologies, monitoring systems and quality control checkpoints are valuable, efficient and provide the highest quality data. The range of duties includes but is not limited to project planning, data collection and analysis, project management, preparing publications and reports and communication with customers, peers, and senior management. The specialist completes one research and development project per year at a minimum.
PQC Metrology Specialist - Knowledge of quality control methods and practices as would normally be acquired through 2 or more years of successful experience working in a quality field and/or completion of Associates degree in a science related discipline.
Senior PQC Metrology Specialist - - Knowledge of the principles of metrology (e.g., knowledge of applied physics, chemistry, mathematics, computer programs/systems, National Institute of Standards and Technology handbook) and/or mechanical background.
Knowledge of quality control methods and practices as would normally be acquired through 3-5 years of successful experience working in the quality field and/or completion of Baccalaureate degree in a science related discipline.
