Job Description


The Research IT department is seeking a DevOps Engineer who will:

Be responsible for developing and executing a Development Operations (DevOps) strategy to ensure quality software deployments and overall application health and performance.

Optimize relationships between the development and IT operations teams, promotes communication, integration, and collaboration for enhanced software development productivity.

Develop infrastructure to incorporate the latest technology best practices and improve operational performance.

Have broad technical knowledge and experience across a variety of IT areas, including infrastructure, development, and operations.

Will manage application configurations, and ensures stable production systems via Level 2 support and implementation/maintenance of application security controls.

Have experience working in a healthcare setting is preferred.


Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate processes including;deployments, unit/regression testing and application health monitoring/metrics

Partner with System Administrators and Architects to build, manage and troubleshoot application configurations

Collaborate with agile teammembers and raise issues/concerns throughout the software development life cycle.

Troubleshoot and resolve L2 production application issues

Understand, implement, and automate security controls, governance processes, and compliance validation within software applications


Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field.

3-5 years of experience is required for a level II

6 - 9 years of experiencerequired for level III

Experience developing complex applications involving web servers, database servers (SQL or NoSQL), on-premises compute clusters, and the cloud (e.g. AWS, GCP, or Azure) is preferred.

Demonstrated functional knowledge of supported systems

Demonstrated experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment toolsets and Terraform.

Demonstrated ability to interact with stakeholders to achieve business results

Ability to draw solutions from a wider range of experience

More proficiency at solving problems in a timely manner

Manages small projects/processes, working independently with limited supervision

Proven ability in automation of repeatable tasks, monitoring, and self-healing of applications.
