Job Description

ReVision Energy is looking for a Director of Commercial Construction to join our growing Commercial Division. This role will serve in a Company Wide capacity but can be based out of any of our 5 locations. Travel will be required.

We have implemented additional measures to assure that those we work and share spaces with adhere to COVID and general safety best practices GENERAL DESCRIPTION: The Director of Commercial Construction (DOCC) plays a key role in the successful execution of Revision Energy’s development, estimating and construction of approximately $100M annually in large-scale ground and roof mounted solar arrays. The DOCC’s primary responsibility is the management and oversight of constructing our Commercial project portfolio on schedule and on budget while maintaining our high standards of safety and customer service. The DOCC is the primary support person for our Commercial Project Management (PM) and Site Superintendent (SS) team, providing management and training, and overall responsibility for that group. The DOCC is also the prime point of Operational contact for complimentary business units including Legal and Finance, Development, Engineering, Procurement, Safety and Operations and Maintenance (O&M). The DOCC also plays an important role in developing and maintaining our critical vendor and subcontractor relationships throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Massachusetts. The DOC reports directly to the VP of Commercial Operations and leads a growing team of approximately 12 direct reports. RESPONSIBILITIES: Construction Oversight

+ Maintain oversight and responsibility for overall construction schedules and project budgets

+ Anticipate and identify financial or execution risk factors and resolve with management team

+ Build and maintain relationships with valued subcontractor partners and assist PM team with subcontractor contracting, coordination and resource allocation

+ Oversee all phases of project management as performed by the PM/SS team

+ Key focus areas include scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk management

+ Responsible for supporting the PM/SS team in accurate procurement, including contract negotiation, execution, administration, and closeout with vendors

+ In conjunction with the PM/SS team, negotiate/review major subcontracts for scope and budget

+ In conjunction with the PM/SS team, ensure completion of all commissioning and closeout activities

+ Coordinate with appropriate teams on timing expectations of project engineering and permitting documents as well as major material specifications and availability

+ Perform periodic project budget reviews and provide budget performance updates to the management team as needed or requested

Team Management

+ Manage and lead PM and SS team to ensure a thorough understanding and implementation of company operations, policies, and procedures

+ Manage project allocation and workload of PMs and SSs

+ Build processes, tools, templates and systems to help the PM/SS team operate at peak efficiency and quality

+ Supervise individuals on the PM/SS team , with responsibility for tracking performance, coaching and training as needed or required

+ Develop and execute the hiring plan for the PM/SS team including hiring, terminating, compensation and performance evaluations

+ Facilitate individual and group meetings and check-ins with the PM/SS team

Risk management:

+ Identify complex project risks, lead constructability reviews, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks for clients and company

+ Facilitate and provide all relevant trainings:

+ Best practices and procedures for PMs/SSs

+ Safety Protocols with Safety Director

+ Operations training for other relevant business units (sales, development, etc.)

Coordination with other teams:

+ Participate in management meetings and leadership of overall Commercial Department, alongside other Directors

+ Coordinate with Engineering and Estimating leadership to continuously improve the accuracy, quality and efficiency of the commercial design and estimating process

+ Support and coordinate with Development and Procurement leadership as primary Operations point of contact for all pre-construction related activities, perspectives or needs

+ Support CRM, ERP, PM software and other technology tool implementation, training and usage

+ Ensure Finance and Executive team has up-to-date information related to project timelines, risk factors and performance against budgets

QUALIFICATIONS (required):

+ 5+ Years of commercial construction experience, commercial solar experience highly valued

+ 5+ Years of personnel management experience

+ Working experience with and knowledge of construction procedures, codes, estimating, safety and scheduling best practices

+ Bachelors’ degree in Construction Management or related degree, or equivalent work experience

+ Excellent time management and prioritization skills, demonstrated ability to meet deadlines

+ Strong understanding of blueprints, specifications and project requirements with a particular focus on electrical and civil

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS (desired but not required):

+ Senior management of electrical/civil construction projects and teams

+ PMP Certification

+ Electrical License

+ NABCEP Certifications
