The Operations Services team is looking for a proven leader to drive operational excellence in our supply chain. We are looking for an energetic, collaborative minded leader, with an entrepreneurial spirit and a background in process improvement/implementation who is highly data driven. This is a highly visible and exciting role for the company and one that will offer the right candidate an opportunity to lead several operational functions.

Who we are

The Operations Services team’s goal is to create value both internally and externally through the establishment of lasting partnerships, clear processes, and tech solutions which will enable us to drive more efficient and cost effective order processing and supply chain systems. We resolve process and system issues in the Wayfair ecosystem before they impact our fulfillment centers, suppliers, customer service agents, on-the-ground supply chain teams, and ultimately our customers. The Supply Chain Services team focuses on day to day issue identification and resolution related to our International Supply Chain and CastleGate services as well as our fulfillment and delivery networks.


What You’ll Do

  • Manage a team of 30-50 supply chain support specialists, directly manage 2-5 managers. Team responsibilities include operations issue identification and resolution, effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, and exception management.
  • You will take the lead on defining the scope for key parts of the Operations Services team and ensuring alignment with other internal and external teams
  • Build and optimize integrated processes for scalable operations within Operations Services and with external parties as our sales volume grows
  • Stabilize & optimize existing processes while creating a tech roadmap for process automation
  • Leverage relationships to drive favorable business results
  • Act as point of escalation for business owners, team managers, and frontline associates
  • Act as primary business owner for partnership with internal technology teams as it relates to implementation of partial or fully automated processes
  • Partner with and manage offshore resources who are responsible for partial process execution
  • Lead weekly/monthly business reviews with an audience of other Senior Managers & Directors to review KPIs and progress, gain buy in for path-forward strategy and collaborate on solving high value business challenges
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to identify, scope, and execute strategic projects
  • Analyze trends to ensure strong performance and close performance gaps
  • Ensure key SLAs are met

Who we are looking for

Success in this role requires a combination of strategic and analytical thinking, an interest in innovating to solve business problems creatively and a willingness to hit the ground running. This person would be a self-starter and an excellent communicator and negotiator, with an ownership and results oriented mindset. A successful Senior Manager candidate would be adaptable, thrive in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable with ambiguity.

  • BA required (MBA preferred) and at least 7 years experience, preferably in one of the following fields: supply chain, logistics, operations management, business transformation, online retail, or consulting.
  • A successful entrepreneur who has built similar or related operations, especially in the tech, logistics and/or shared services space.
  • An innovative leader and self starter who is looking for an opportunity to lead operations and execution.
  • Strong analytical experience and comfortable operating with data sets to identify trends and actionable takeaways.
  • Detailed oriented with a strong client or customer management experience skill set.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office, especially MS Excel.
