Bar Harbor Bank & Trust, one of New England’s top financial institutions is looking for a responsible and dedicated individual to join our Finance team in the role of Staff Accountant to assist in a variety of functions in support of the accounting team.
+ Maintain fixed asset and prepaid ledgers
+ Preparation of journal entries and reconciliation of general ledger accounts
+ Manage cash balances in the Bank’s accounts
+ Support the month, quarter and year-end financial close
+ Provides support on team projects, as directed.
+ Enthusiastically support the Bank’s Guiding Principles and Brand Behaviors.
+ Adhere to regulatory requirements, such as Anti-Money Laundering and Bank Secrecy Act.
+ Comprehend and adhere to federal banking regulations in accordance with Bar Harbor Bank & Trust’s policies and procedures.
Required Education & Experience:
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
+ 3+ years prior experience in Accounting
+ Public accounting and/or bank experience is a plus, but not required
+ Strong organizational and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow
+ Strong attention to detail
+ Ability to work effectively and independently
+ Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially excel
