In the role of Multi-Modal Transportation Planner/Engineer, you will work as part of our team, and alongside our clients, to assist with project delivery. This position will support delivering a diverse range of traffic and planning, analysis, operations, and design projects.
Candidate must be a highly motivated and talented planner/engineer with a strong background and interests in multi-modal transportation planning and engineering projects, and someone who wants to make positive change to the way people move throughout our communities. Primary Responsibilities
In this role, we'll count on you to:
Perform complex traffic engineering tasks and exercise sound engineering judgment in the preparation of traffic operational analysis and technical reports/presentations
Develop traffic designs including traffic signal, multi-modal, signing, striping, traffic control plan, roundabout, alternative intersection configurations
Lead the development of planning and technical engineering studies and reports
Perform evaluation of multi-modal transportation systems and transit systems
Develop complete streets planning and design projects that integrate all transportation modes
Make decisions on design and engineering procedures as needed
Perform technical traffic analysis for safety and operations of all modes
Help to complete technology projects involving ITS, Adaptive Signals, Transit Signal Priority, Advanced Traffic Management, Tolling, and CV systems
Function as technical specialist, task or project manager on projects
Supervise staff of professionals and technicians as needed
Support in the preparation of business development activities including proposal writing and cost estimating, networking, meeting with clients and presenting at technical conferences/professional organizations
Support delivery of a wide range of projects and client engagement throughout projects
Follow our quality control process and helps ensure high caliber work products
Perform other duties as needed

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or closely related engineering degree
8+ years roadway geometric design, traffic operations/safety analysis and traffic engineering/design
Experience working with both state and local agency clients throughout Massachusetts and New England
AICP, PTP, or PE required, PTOE Certification with PE is a plus
