General Description of Position:
Estimator for Engineering and Construction - Position will have primary responsibility for developing and maintaining an estimating database of costs and equipment used in power related transmission and distribution projects for both engineering and construction work. With an established database the estimator supports the development of project and programs estimates for proposed and approved projects. They also assist in developing and tracking detailed bid packages for equipment and construction contracts. Maintain and update TRC estimate qualifications, initiate FATRC registrations and monitor client bid requests for various practices in the Energy Sector. This position will work closely with project controls and senior management staff to support the development and production of high-quality estimates.

Builds collaborative relationships with multiple company organizations.
Assists in preparing budgets
Collects analyzes and archives project data.
Develops historical documentation and databases for reference and use
Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field from an accredited school or University or equivalent related experience is required.
Minimum 4-10 Years' experience applying estimating terminology, measures, concepts, and principles. Experience estimating for Electrical Utility or Utility Contractor preferred.
Certification in estimating or related fields preferred (AACE International CEP)
Proficient with estimating software and establishing databases (TRC uses Sage)
Reads and interprets drawings and specifications.
Demonstrated communication skills to deal with internal/external clients
Strong attention to detail and ability to self-check work
Develops detailed material take-offs for estimate development
Able to prepare bid packages, conceptual estimates, and analysis of subcontractor bids, etc. for projects.
Performs duties that are complex under general supervision.
Expected to assist in the preparation of larger and complex estimating assignment.
Prefer certification in estimating or related fields (AACE International CEP)
Location in Northeast Region of USA (Remote work optional for right candidate)
May be required to complete the Project Manager Qualification.
Attain certification as PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP) (or equivalent)
Working Conditions & Physical requirements:
Position will be an office environment with proximity to PDE staff. Occasional temporary relocation to project area may be required.
Physically able to perform the essential functions of the position.
Business travel may be required.
