ALTERNATIVE RESPONSE LIAISON (Police Department)
The Portland Police Department is seeking to fill the role of the Alternative Response Liaison. The liaison will assist the agency in its proactive efforts to provide critical response capacity, as well as community outreach, education, and case management to its citizens. This position will be integral in enhancing police response through direct contact with those in crisis. This team member will work collaboratively with other behavioral health professionals to connect citizens with appropriate resources, provide referrals and advocate for services. As a member of our Behavioral Health Unit, this person will respond to calls for service, coordinate the management of existing services and provide available resources. The Alternative Response Liaison will work closely with patrol officers, co-responding or responding in lieu of a police response. Licensure requirements are LCPC, LCPC-C, LCSW, and/or license eligible with experience working with vulnerable populations. A bachelor’s degree in a relevant social science or equivalent education and work experience is required, as well as a proven ability to work with socially and ethnically diverse populations. Candidates should be well organized, with strong communications and data collection skills. Candidates should be effective in working as part of a team and independently. Candidates must pass a police background check and hold a valid driver’s license.
Salary range: $64,086 -$78,813 annually, and will include a generous benefits package.
