Position Summary
Performs secretarial duties and provides administrative assistance to Surgical Services Leadership. Records minutes for various Committees. Provides clerical support at the direction of the Senior Medical Director and/or Surgical Service Directors to other areas of the hospital. Maintains professional integrity of the Perioperative Services Departments. The ability to balance competing priorities, maintaining a tactful, courteous, professional manner is essential. A high degree of confidentiality must also be maintained.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: High school graduate preferred.
License/Certifications: N/A
Experience: One to two years of secretarial, medical secretarial experience. Two to five years secretarial experience with one to two years of experience in a health care environment preferred.
Excellent computer skills required.
Typing skills with word processing experience with Microsoft Office products.
Telephone skills.
Elementary calculator skills.
Shorthand skills preferred.
Self-motivation and ability to organize and perform responsibilities independently and accurately.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work well with others.
Ability to organize and coordinate multiple activities.
Able to adapt to constant change and fast pace of group.
Must be creative and have the ability to anticipate and adapt to current and future challenges.
