CURRENT VACANCY INFORMATION

The Department of Corrections, Division of Juvenile Community Corrections has a current vacancy for a Regional Correctional Administrator located in Region 3, Bangor. This position is open to Department of Corrections employees only (promotional only).

JOB DESCRIPTION

As a Regional Correctional Administrator, you will be responsible for the supervision, direction, and coordination of Juvenile Community Corrections staff, leading them in promoting the goals, policies, and mission of the Maine Department of Corrections. Responsibilities also include the overall management and administration of all community correctional programs and services within the assigned Region.

REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in this field you will need to have knowledge in areas such as:

+ Maine Juvenile Code.

+ Policy formation and implementation.

+ Evidence-based practices and principles.

+ Management and supervisory principles and practices.

+ Youth serving agencies.

+ Treatment modalities and community resources.

+ Juvenile court process.

As well, you must have the ability to:

+ Communicate effectively.

+ Lead and manage people and financial resources.

+ Incorporate evidence-based practices into daily activities.

+ Implement goals.

+ Exercise discretion and sound judgment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Ten (10) years of training, education, or experience in either adult or juvenile community corrections programs and services. Experience must include supervisory experience.
