Summary
Position Summary
This individual's primary responsibility will be to manage day-to-day operations of a scientific program or project. This includes, but is not limited to oversight of purchasing, safety records, overall technical and quality assurance operations, supply inventories, budget management, personnel and grant management. Position availability is directly related to grant funding.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: Master's degree in related field, PhD preferred
License/Certification: N/A
Experience: 8+ years of relevant experience with PhD, 10+ years of relevant experience with Master's degree
May be proficient in operation of one or more items of highly technical equipment.
Skills should include ability to troubleshoot problems and analyze the data obtained.
Must have good organizational and personnel management skills, communication skills, both personal and written, business skills and a strategic planning acumen.
Visual acuity, manual dexterity, math skills and a scientific acumen are required.
Essential Functions
Technical Duties
Participates in experimental design and is able to identify experimental problems and inconsistencies
Develops and maintains logs, notebooks, and database of all work-related activity to collect and compile experimental data and summarizes results to produce reports.
Assists in the preparation of materials for grants and manuscripts. May be expected to write portions of manuscripts and grant applications.
Uses computers, equipment, and high-technology applications to perform work duties
Follows all procedures and protocols as developed and maintains awareness of advances in the applicable field
Directs, trains, supervises and evaluates work activities of personnel as appropriate
