We are seeking a capable Electrical Engineer to contribute to the development of a rapidly growing family of clean energy products produced through an international network of contract manufacturers. The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that new and upgraded products meet design specifications and customer needs across a broad range of applications and operating conditions. He/she will work within a multidisciplinary group to ensure our products meet cost, performance, manufacturability and reliability targets.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
*Plan and perform Design Validation Tests to prove-out product designs
*Participate in engineering design reviews including for DFM and DFT
*Support certification testing with Nationally Recognized Test Labs
*Create and review Engineering Change Notices on products under your purview
*Provide ongoing product support to technical service, operations, and contract manufacturers
*Contribute to and participate in creation of new and upgraded product designs
*Ability to identify key design parameters to support product updates for performance, manufacturability, and cost improvements

 

Minimal Qualifications:

*Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
*0-2 years of industry experience, preferably in an electronic products company
*Proficient in soldering through-hole and surface mount components
*Ability to build, operate and test electro-mechanical assemblies
*Ability to interpret schematics and Bills Of Material
*Excellent oral and written communication skills
*Ability to effectively collaborate with people and groups across the organization
*Hands on experience working with engineering lab test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, spectrum analyzers, etc

Preferred Qualifications:

*Power electronics experience
*Familiarity in Schematic Entry & PCB design/manufacturing
*Familiarity with third party certification and testing (e.g. NRTL, environmental)
*Familiarity with Product Lifecycle Management systems

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; and use hands to manipulate objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk. On occasion the incumbent may be required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. Specific conditions of this job include are typical of frequent and continuous computer-based work requiring periods of sitting, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Occasional travel, including internationally.
