Part-Time Faculty, Aviation Law – Revised 1/21/22 Campus: UMA Augusta Department: Aviation – AAVIA Bargaining Unit: PATFA Salary Band/Wage Band: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and previous college teaching experience, in accordance with the PATFA contract. In September of 2013, the University of Maine at Augusta, in collaboration with Maine Instrument Flight, launched the UMA Bachelor of Science in Aviation program. Additionally, in 2017, UMA started offering a program for remote pilots flying small Unmanned Aircraft or drones. Our 8-course UAS certificate program allows you to become a certified FAA remote pilot capable of being hired by many Maine businesses or establishing your own business offering aviation services. The University of Maine at Augusta seeks a part-time instructor to teach Aviation Law courses in the Aviation program. The University of Maine System is considered a federal contractor and, therefore, is required to comply with Executive Order directives regarding COVID vaccinations. + Teaching experience.

+ Experience with aviation or products liability defense, as well as aircraft purchase and management issues.

+ JD Degree with emphasis in Aviation related legal issues.

Preferred Qualifications:

+ A background in aviation, such as training or certification as a pilot is a plus
