Summary

~ Full Time/40 Hours per week~
Position Summary
The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for the medical nutrition therapy and nutrition education of hospital inpatients, swing patients, observation and outpatients. The dietitian is an integral part of the diabetes education program and serves on the diabetes advisory committee. The Clinical Dietitian will participate in community education and staff development programs as needed. In addition, the Clinical Dietitian coordinates with the Director of Food Services in the planning and directing of the therapeutic aspects of dietetic services to assist in the provision of quality food service and optimal nutritional care to corporate patients and residents. The Clinical Dietitian will be a resource to providers in the office and work to promote nutrition across the system.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited program and dietetic internship.
License/Certifications: Licensed in the State of Maine. Passed the National exam to be registered as a Dietitian.
Experience: Preferred 1 year in like environment as a Registered Dietitian. Will except newly Registered Dietitians who have completed internship.
Affiliation with Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recommended though not required.
Affiliation with Maine Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics recommended though not required.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management, public groups, employees, customers and/or boards of directors.
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
