The Transgenic Genotyping Service (TGS)has a Temporary Genotyping position available working in the Genotyping Lab in Bar Harbor.Playing an essential role in the overall success of JAX Mice revenue growth (Production, Repository, Custom Breeding Services, and Reproductive Sciences Services) by using cutting-edge techniques to ensure the proper genetic characterization for all mice that require genotyping. The Genotyping Lab works under high-throughput conditions and employees are responsible for continuous improvement to safeguard high quality output along with efficiency gains to ensure an excellent experience for internal and external customers.
Receives, verifies, processes and performs DNA extraction on tissue sample submissions.
Loads and unloads automation equipment.
Perform laboratory tasks including oligo and control tube scanning, receiving stocks, performing inventory, restocking supplies and prepping master mix.
High School Diploma
1 year of work experience - laboratory experience not required
Ability to be available for a minimum of 2 months
Reliable to work Monday - Friday, 8:00 - 4:30pm
