Use your Engineering knowledge and skills to dramatically improve processes in Maine's premier Healthcare System.
Help improvement the processes of the financial side of healthcare and be a member of an elite team of Engineers who works to improve healthcare operations. We are looking for an Engineer who loves challenges and wants to make a difference for our communities in healthcare availability and delivery by designing and implementing better processes. We use tools and techniques from lean manufacturing, operations analysis, six sigma and financial management to support the operation in achieving continuous improvement. In this role, you will be an integral part of a team that works hand in hand with leadership to observe existing processes and refine them based on engineering principles. While making a real difference with your contribution, you will have the opportunity to learn lean methods, hospital financials, operations analysis, hospital technology as well as change management at a deep level through our hands-on training program.
This is not a role where you analyze and make recommendations, instead you will be there first hand to implement your ideas and see them come to life. You will be able to see the processes you help design, as they are rapidly implemented, and feel success as people get engaged and excited about their jobs. Continuous Process improvement engineers working side by side with revenue cycle leadership and associates applying techniques such as six sigma and lean. Learn to lead Kaizen and refinement events helping operations achieve best practice.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
A high degree of self-motivation, versatility and flexibility.
Ability to probe, analyze, synthesize and articulate complex subject matter so it can be easily understood by associates.
Excellent computer skills (MS Office including Word, Excel, Power Point).
Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication.
Excellent presentation skills.
Ability to lead, teach and motivate others.
Ability to adapt to a flexible schedule.
Ability to work in a team to accomplish goals.
20% travel for the first 18 months - 2 years.
