Description:

The role will lead development of the Entity Registration capability within RaDS IT and execute strategy for supporting the digital transformation of our scientific tools. The role offers the chance to work on a high-profile project with the ability to impact how lab-based research is conducted and accelerate innovative drugs to market. You will possess a blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision with the ability to dive into the weeds, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You will be able to comprehend scientific problems and translate those needs for the technical team while prioritizing tasks to ensure the introduction and ongoing enhancement of solutions. Success will be the acceptance and adoption of these new solutions by the scientists targeted for each release.

You will be able to identify with our scientists’ needs and be a passionate advocate for their perspectives through all phases of product development.

The position will be based in North America, travel to other sites will be necessary at times potentially globally once able to do so safely (estimated no more than 15% of the time).

Key tasks:

+ Managing the product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities.

+ Specifying requirements for current and future products through close partnership with MRL scientists and other stakeholders.

+ Aiding in the adoption and change management plan.

+ Analyzing potential ISV partner relationships for the resultant solution(s).

Qualifications

Education Minimum:

B.A./B.S. or Advanced degree equivalent in a relevant technical or scientific discipline (such as life sciences, informatics, genomics, statistics/biostatistics). Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.

Prerequisites:

+ Demonstrable experience in or around the pharmaceutical industry sufficient to grasp the underlying workflows .

+ Has worked in a Product related role.

+ Worked in an Agile development team.

+ A dedication to appreciating complex problems and tackling a diversity of subject matter with a creative mind and imaginative strategies.

+ Demonstrated ability to develop strong, trust based, collaborative relationships to drive change within all levels of a large, diverse organization.

+ Demonstrated ability to prioritize work based on user need, business value, and return on investment.

+ Ability to quickly grasp new technological and scientific concepts and convey their value to clients and collaborators.

+ Has redesigned and improved internal business processes.

+ Ability to consider and manage change. as a critical success factor for in-house enterprise systems.

+ Experience and comfort making build-or-buy decisions.

+ Ability to function in a geographically distributed, culturally diverse environment with both internal and external employees.

+ Strong written and verbal communications skills and the ability to interact with both technical and non-technical stakeholders and users.

+ Ability to work in a team of multidisciplinary scientists and IT personnel, and operate effectively in a matrix environment; team player yet able to work independently.

Preferred:

+ Demonstrable knowledge of problems facing scientists working a drug discovery lab.

+ Experience in applying change management concepts in a cross functional group.

+ Ability to work collaboratively with vendors to address business problems.

+ Familiarity with user centered design and UX principles.

+ Pragmatic Institute Certification.

+ Familiarity with Cloud based software and terms.

+ Experience with Dotmatics or Scilligence Lab Informatics software.

+ Comprehension of laboratory processes and methods.

+ Comprehension of the Product Life Cycle of software products.
