Overview

Milton Cat is seeking an experienced Field Service Technician to work within our SITECH Northeast group. This position services the machines and attachments our customers use to leverage the latest GPS and machine control technology on construction sites. Ideal candidates will have worked on construction equipment (both CAT and non-CAT equipment is preferable), and be able to trouble shoot electrical systems. Technicians provide their own basic mechanic's tools, while SITECH Northeast will provide specialized tooling and a company service vehicle. Overtime will be required based on operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Repairs, reconditions, and maintains equipment and components within service territory.
  • Properly install and update equipment, check cables and connections to the hardware.
  • Orders replacement parts ensuring that parts ordered are correct and complete at time of order.
  • Diagnose hydraulic and electrical issues that affect the performance of the GPS machine control system.
  • Identify the problem and cause of failure through logical troubleshooting steps.
  • Assist sales team in proper application and demonstrations of machine technology
  • Keeps up to date with developments in tooling, technologies and systems.
  • Manage service-related information and paperwork in support of work orders per company procedures
  • Maintain a high standard of ethics, abiding by all company policies.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or (GED) equivalent. Two-year degree in Technician or diesel mechanic school a plus.
  • 2 years of experience as a shop or field technician working with heavy equipment; electrical focus extremely helpful
  • Ability to diagnose and repair equipment and components in the field
  • Ability to read technical manuals and prepare reports
  • Some experience operating a variety of equipment a plus, not necessary
  • Valid driver's license, clean driving record and able to operate a company service vehicle
  • Ability to change priorities and remain productive in a fast-paced work environment
  • Perform duties with a sense of urgency, exceeding customer expectations
  • Proficient in the use of a computer and related Microsoft software
  • Flexible to work after hours when needed to meet customer needs
  • Ability to attend occasional training meetings and workshops, which may require overnight stays.
