Housekeeping duties will include the following tasks: All guestrooms when vacated will be cleaned. Guest room linens will be changed: dirty linens will be brought to the laundry and new linens, glasses, toiletries, and other supplies will be replenished. Guest bathrooms will be cleaned, beds will be made and all closets, drawers, baseboards, floors, mirrors, lightbulbs, and walls will be cleaned. Windows will be cleaned periodically and window panes will be washed daily. On a regular basis, mattress pads, protective pillow covers and shower liners will be changed. Common areas will be cleaned every few days on a rotating schedule (hallways, staircases, living room, dining room, porches, supply rooms, worker’s bathroom) with floors washed or vacuumed.
The housekeeper will inform the owner when room or cleaning supplies are low in stock and need to be ordered. All trash and waste will be brought to the appropriate disposal area daily.
The main job is housekeeping, however, because the Inn is small duties may also include assisting with laundry; placing laundry in washing and drying machines, folding of laundry and some ironing. Other duties will be to assist with the complementary morning breakfast; preparing, serving and cleaning up and to do some outside work on occasion; raking and yard grooming.
