Spruce Point Inn – Waiter/Waitress – 20 Full-time temporary seasonal positions available (04/01/2022 – 10/31/2022)


Provide fine-dining services and collecting payments from customers. The position is responsible for seating, taking orders, taking reservations from guests, and filing condiment and napkin containers. They will perform food preparation duties such as preparing salads, appetizers and cold dishes. The will also perform cleaning duties, such as sweeping and mopping floors. Additional requirements include preparing checks, itemizing and totaling meal costs and taxes; removing dishes and glasses from tables or counters, rolling silverware, and set up food stations; and serving food and beverages to guests and preparing specialty dishes at tables as required.

Must have 3 months experience as a server.


Employer will offer a minimum of 35 hours per week. Open 7-days a week (holidays included). SHIFTS: 6 AM 1:30 PM; 7:00 AM 2:30 PM; 4:00 PM 11:30 PM; 1:00 PM 8:30 PM; 3:00 PM 10:30 PM. SHIFT SCHEDULE: START AND END TIMES AND DAYS OFF VARY DEPENDING ON WORK DEMAND. THIS IS A TIPPED POSITION AND THEREFORE WORKERS WILL RECEIVE A BASE WAGE OF $6.08 PER HOUR WITH THE EMPLOYER TAKING A TIP CREDIT OF $7.20 PER HOUR. HOURLY SALARY FOR THE POSITION WILL BE NO LESS THAN $13.28 PER HOUR (COMBINED CASH WAGE AND TIPS.) NO EMPLOYEES WILL MAKE LESS THAN THE OFFERED WAGE. EMPLOYEES WILL KEEP ALL TIPS EXCEPT FOR CONTRIBUTION TO A TIP-POOL FOR OTHER QUALIFYING TIPPED EMPLOYEES. Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Workers have the option to live in Employer provided housing. Workers living in Employer provided housing will have daily transportation to and from the worksite. Employer will deduct rent from worker’s pay-check weekly. Onsite housing – $30/double & $20/triple per week for the Dorms. Offsite housing $120 per week for apartment. A $250 refundable security deposit is required and can be paid upfront or by voluntary payment plan, paid through payroll deductions. Deposits are refundable once the unit is clean, vacant, and no damaged has occurred. Employer will make all deductions from workers paycheck required by law; and optional employee housing. Daily transportation is provided for off-site housing. Van shuttle runs on set schedule from 6:45am to 11:00pm. Bicycles are also offered on a first come first serve basis for any employee. Boothbay Harbor Notary also offers bicycles on a first come first serve basis with a refundable deposit for the season rental. Employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. If the worker doesn’t use employer arranged/paid for transportation, employer will reimburse the worker for any transportation costs incurred in the 1st work week. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of $13.17 per day during travel to a maximum of $55 per day with receipts. Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees).
