Spruce Point Inn – Front Desk Attendant – 5 Full-time temporary seasonal positions available (04/01/2022 – 10/31/2022)

 

Greet, register, and assign rooms to guests of the inn. Front Desk attendant responsibilities include accommodating inn patrons by registering and assigning rooms to guests, issuing room keys or cards, transmitting and receiving messages, keeping records of occupied rooms and guests accounts, making and confirming reservations, and presenting statements to and collecting payments from departing guests. They will review accounts and charges with guests during the check-out process and answer inquiries pertaining to services, guest registration, and travel directions, or make recommendations regarding shopping, dining or entertainment. Additionally, they will assist quests with their luggage.

Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds. Experience is not required as Front Desk Attendants are required to go through extensive training and must assist with answering phone and taking reservations prior to the opening of the season.

Employer will offer a minimum of 35 hours per week. Open 7-days a week (holidays included). Shifts 7am-3pm; 11am-7pm; 3-11pm. Shift schedule start and end times and days off vary depending on work demand. Workers will be paid no less than $15.00 per hour. Overtime wage will be paid no less than $22.50 per hour. Paid weekly. Will use single workweek as standard for computing wages due. Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. Workers have the option to live in Employer provided housing. Workers living in Employer provided housing will have daily transportation to and from the worksite. Employer will deduct rent from worker’s pay-check weekly. Onsite housing – $30/double & $20/triple per week for the Dorms. Offsite housing $120 per week for apartment. A $250 refundable security deposit is required and can be paid upfront or by voluntary payment plan, paid through payroll deductions. Deposits are refundable once the unit is clean, vacant, and no damaged has occurred. Employer will make all deductions from workers paycheck required by law; and optional employee housing. Daily transportation is provided for off-site housing. Van shuttle runs on set schedule from 6:45am to 11:00pm. Bicycles are also offered on a first come first serve basis for any employee. Boothbay Harbor Notary also offers bicycles on a first come first serve basis with a refundable deposit for the season rental. Employer will arrange and pay directly for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. If the worker doesn’t use employer arranged/paid for transportation, employer will reimburse the worker for any transportation costs incurred in the 1st work week. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily meals will be provided at a rate of $13.17 per day during travel to a maximum of $55 per day with receipts. Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees).
