Job Description

General Summary: The Supervisor, IT Product is responsible for supervising a Product Development team building and maintaining applications. Possessing demonstrable staff management experience, the Supervisor serves as the frontline supervisor overseeing a team of IT professionals with expertise in domain applications. This role interfaces with business staff and vendors to manage operational and project work, and they provide an exceptional customer experience. The Team Supervisor will have direct reports consisting of 1 product development team of multiple team members and managing them to successful delivery. This role has a thorough understanding of the IT environment to detect critical deficiencies in team capabilities; and recommends solutions for improvement.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Develop technical, analytical, leadership and agile management competencies within team members.

Coach and develop a strong, cohesive team capable of learning new technologies and adapting to changing market and business needs.

Lead delivery of the product roadmap through the team and influencing and working with others to obtain your team's objectives.

Track and communicate status of delivery of the team to stakeholders in a timely fashion.

Owns the administration of applicable technology vendors.

Assists in the administration of outsource service providers, consultant contracts and service agreements.

Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Proven experience in leading and mentoring others.

Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, industrial engineering or a related field of study. Bachelor's degree in computer science, business administration, industrial engineering or a related field of study or HSD and 3-5 years in a position where project or product management and application leadership were the primary function.

Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments. Ability to quickly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies.

Interpersonal relationship skills sufficient to effectively lead others, to facilitate consensus among those holding disparate opinions and to work effectively with individuals and groups made up of people representing a diversity of levels and degrees of sophistication.

Demonstrated ability to organize, manage and monitor multiple initiatives to successful completion, adapting to shifting priorities in a high-pressure environment.

Proven initiative and organizational skills to prioritize complex tasks, projects, and workflow, and use independent judgment to make decisions regarding operations and deadlines.

Excellent analytical and technical skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to balance the long-term ("big picture") and short-term implications of individual decisions.

Exposure to Agile software development life cycle process and concepts such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, and Test-Driven Development.

 

Minimum Education Required: Bachelor's degree

Education Preferred: Bachelor's degree

Minimum Experience Required: Three (3) years

Experience Preferred: Five (5) years
