The candidate will interact with all Divisions of Bath Iron Works in developing and implementing Crane and Weight Handling Projects. This will also include the maintenance and upkeep of a multi-year portfolio to be able to strategically align funding with these investments. A strong mechanical background coupled with practical field experience will insure successful completion of both modifications and upgrades to our most critical assets. While this position is mechanical centric a solid understanding of todays electrical components will be a plus to the successful candidate. This person will communicate with all levels at Bath Iron Works so effective communication will be essential to insuring our customer is kept well informed.
BS in Mechanical or Marine Engineering preferred
Combination of education and field experience will be considered
Professional licenses and certifications a plus
Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective machinery maintenance programs
5-Years experience in a developing / implementing facilities projects required
5-Years experience specific to crane, and industrial machinery repair and maintenance required
Professional licenses or certifications a plus
PC skills mandatory
Experience with manufacturing equipment a plus (ie...burning tables, waterjets, automated welding)
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
Demonstrated ability to manage conflict
While performing the duties of the job, the employee must be able to climb ladders, stairs, work at heights and be able to work around moving machinery, as well as, possess the ability to work with multiple manufacturing trades in support of emergent and urgent jobs.
