Job Description

AMHC is recruiting for additional Call Center staffing in Presque Isle.  These positions for a full time (40 hours/week) and part time (24 hours/week) Call Specialists.    

The Call Specialist-MHRT-CSP answers all phone calls, texts, and chats for the AMHC Call Center, which is in operation 24/7, 365 days a year. The Call Center receives all requests coming in for Mobile Crisis teams and Outpatient offices for scheduling of intake appointments in Aroostook, Hancock, and Washington Counties. Call Specialists are the first point of contact for many individuals requesting information and services, therefore must be engaging, welcoming, and patient while interfacing with individuals through a variety of communication methods. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer and intervene with all calls and requests received through Mobile Crisis Dispatch inclusive of calls passed from the Maine Crisis Line, Washington County SUD Information and Referral line, AMHC providers, and local referral sources.
  • Dispatch the Mobile Crisis Team.
  • Track all emergency evaluations that are occurring within the three county catchment area.
  • Assess the treatment and level of care needs of clients calling, by triaging and assisting with necessary referrals.
  • Complete all administrative tasks as assigned.
  • Educate staff and the community about Emergency Services, Resources and options available, and how to access them.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • An Associate’s Degree in the Human Services related or Education field.
  • MHRT-CSP certification is required to carry out the assigned responsibilities of the position. The MHRT-CSP training will be provided by the agency upon hire.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule and work evenings and weekends as needed.
