The Barron Center - Full-Time – 37.5 hours/week - Must be willing to work a flexible schedule to include weekends and holidays –

The Barron Center is owned and operated by the City of Portland and is Maine’s largest skilled nursing facility.  Starting pay is $13.38 per hour.  In addition to the standard rate of pay, we are distributing an additional $5.00 for each hour worked until June 2022 from our Cares Act Relief funds. The generous benefits package includes excellent healthcare ($0 premium with completion of wellness tasks), 13 1/2 paid holidays, vacation and sick pay, 50% USM tuition reduction, retirement contributions, flexible spending accounts for health and childcare expenses.  Paid Weekly.  Easy commute off I-95 and city bus stop at entrance for easy access to work. 

Now is your chance to have the job you always wanted – being part of a team that makes a difference in the lives of our Residents.  Duties may include picking up soiled linen, distributing clean linen, rubbish removal, loading and unloading commercial washers and dryers; folding and sorting linen; hanging and delivering personal laundry. Excellent customer service skills. Must be able to lift objects weighing over 50 lbs. for an extended period of time; must be able to work in extreme temperature conditions; must possess a valid Maine Class C driver’s license or the ability to obtain within first 6 months of employment; must be able to follow oral and simple written instructions. The successful candidate will be subject to a pre-employment physical exam.  Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check.
