This position includes care at Knox & Quarry Hill Long Term Care facilities, as well as Inpatient and outpatient for the Pen Bay Wound Department.
The Wound Care RN administers skilled nursing care to patients with ostomies, wounds and fistulas, pressure sores and problems with incontinence. Is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating and documenting WOCN nursing services to meet patient needs consistent with an established plan of care. Instructs nurses, physicians and other members of the health care team in care of patients with ostomies, wounds and fistulas, pressure sores and problems with incontinence.
Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
Education: BSN required. Satisfactory completion of WOCN accredited nursing education program is strongly preferred. However, we will consider individuals who are currently enrolled or are enrolling in a WOCN program.
License/Certification: Current License as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maine; CPR and IV certification or eligible.
Experience: Minimum two years' clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute care institution required.
