Authorization Coordinator Pay Range: $17.00

Authorization Coordinator Schedule:  Hours: 8 am - 5:00 pm

Authorization Coordinator Start Date: ASAP


The Authorization Coordinator position in Portland, Maine is responsible for maintaining and updating electronic medical records, handling all aspects of insurance, prior authorization and patient responsibility, and obtaining authorization/pre-certification for the correct home health and hospice services. You will have a solid understanding of identifying and reporting technical denials, and will maintain/update current insurance authorization requirements. Successful candidates will effectively answer/make phone calls and use email for communication. This is a full time, first shift position.  


Authorization Coordinator Qualifications: 

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred with completion of business, secretarial school, or medical office assistant training

  • Minimum of one to two years of work experience in a healthcare setting 

  • Strong customer service skills  

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, insurance industry, and health care reimbursement sources
