The University of Maine Farmington is seeking applicants for the position of Social Media Coordinator for the Enrollment Department.
The Social Media Coordinator, together with the position supervisor, leads efforts to improve, update, and maintain UMF’s social and digital media presence. This outward-facing position supports the university’s marketing efforts in a variety of media and communication projects, events, and promotions. This position works very closely and coordinates with other UMF marketing and communications staff.
This is a temporary, 30 hour per week position for three to six months depending on need.
+ Coordinate, monitor, and maintain the university’s social media presence, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Snapchat, and Pinterest.
+ Develop and recommend social media marketing strategies and coordinate the launching of new social media and online promotions.
+ Research and schedule content for social media and undertake specific projects, for example, blogs, and other innovative social media applications.
+ Coordinate and/or assist with search engine optimization and placement of digital ads including Google, Facebook, targeted and retargeted, and banner ads.
+ Serve as a resource for updating web content as it relates to university marketing efforts.
+ Ensure ADA compliance on all related marketing and social media content and provide input on university web and social media standards.Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Experience managing social media pages and other digital promotional presences
+ Familiarity with Search Engin Optimization and Google Analytics and other metrics that measure campaign engagement and response
+ Strong writing and communication skills. Knowledge of higher education marketing and/or communicationsOther Information:
