Current MaineHealth employees are not eligible for the sign-on bonus. Must be separated from the MaineHealth system for 3 months to be eligible.

~ Full-time at 32 hours per week ~

Position Summary

Under the supervision of leadership, the cook is responsible for the preparation and presentation of food production during assigned scheduled hours. The cook will follow standardized recipes and work in a timely and efficient manner. The cook is required to comply with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and follow food production programs and procedures.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

Education: See "Experience"

Experience: Two years previous culinary training or cooking experience required. Previous experience working within a healthcare environment highly desirable.

License/Certifications: Servsafe certified preferred or obtained within 6 months of hire.

Knowledge of foods and food preparation.

Knowledge of the operation and care of kitchen equipment.

Basic knowledge of food service sanitation and safety.

Ability to work effectively with fellow workers and others.

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.

Ability to learn the use and care of equipment, materials, utensils, and methods used in food service.

Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.

Ability to walk and remain standing while on shift.
