COMMUNITY SERVICES COORDINATOR

Police Department - The Police Department is seeking an individual who will act as a liaison to Portland’s East Bayside neighborhood. The East Bayside neighborhood is a vital and busy Portland neighborhood that encompasses a large city park, multiple businesses, social service agencies, and a large and diverse population. This position plays a key role in the area of community policing, serves as a liaison to Portland citizens, and represents the Police Department in police/community affairs.  The Community Policing Coordinator will work closely with patrol officers assigned to this geographic area on crime trends and patterns as well as emerging neighborhood issues to include property owner concerns, child welfare, and neighborhood quality of life concerns.  A bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience; knowledge of local resources available to assist neighborhood residents and businesses is required. Flexibility of work hours and a proven ability to work with socially diverse populations are a must. The candidate should be well organized, with strong communication skills, and able to work independently, as well as within a team.  Must pass a police background check and be able to travel within the city.  Pay range starting at $45,493.76/year, plus a generous benefits package.
