We currently run a large eCommerce platform serving the full-stack, but we want to start to move towards the next-generation of eCommerce architectures – headless, API-first, cloud-native and micro-service based. About the job

The right person will be a high performing Scrum Master with experience delivering eCommerce projects. They will contribute to Pearson’s technical transformation by driving forward the development of global capabilities onto the PMC core technical platform. We are looking for someone with passion for technology and a drive to help us move towards our architectural vision.

As a Scrum Master you will:

Key Responsibilities

+ Guide and coach the Scrum Team on how to use Agile practices and principles to deliver high quality products and services to our customers

+ Get the team to a high performing level by recognizing areas of strength and improvement and foster a culture of continuous improvement

+ Represent the assigned project/initiative in the daily Scrum of Scrum meetings, reporting on sprint progress and raising any impediments

+ Drive forward high-level project plans as initiatives are handed over to the engineering teams and help refine and track team velocity and capacity

+ Coach the Scrum team in self-organization, cross-functional skillsets, domain knowledge and effective communication, both internally and externally working within the Scrum team

+ Work with Scrum Team, as well as internal and external stakeholders, to influence and drive decision making

+ Resolves team impediments with other Scrum Masters and Project Managers

+ Facilitate and support all scrum events, such as Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review and Sprint Retrospective

Skills & Abilities:

+ In-depth knowledge and experience of agile scrum as well as knowledge of traditional project management principles and practices

+ Experience of JIRA for task management and Confluence for project documentation

+ Outstanding communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills

+ Exemplifies and promotes Agile values and principles

+ Enjoys working with people in a fast moving, innovative environment

+ Adept at refinement, story management, estimation, velocity, retrospection, and other Scrum techniques

+ Planning and problem solving with product management and delivery teams

+ Demonstrated experience facilitating meetings at multiple levels of an organization and an understanding of facilitation techniques

+ Min 5+ years industry experience
