The Education in the Unorganized Territory-EUT is seeking a part-time Bus Driver for the Kingman Elementary School. The EUT is responsible for the provision of education services on behalf of the resident pupils in Maine’s unorganized territory (UT).
This position will be directly responsible for operating a school bus to transport pupils to and from school and school related activities. Work is performed under general supervision.
+ O perates and drives school bus, obeys all traffic laws, and observes all safety regulations in order to transport pupils to and from school and school related activities.
+ Maintains pupil discipline on bus and enforces bus rules in order to ensure order and student safety.
+ Reports violations of discipline to proper authority in order to initiate corrective action.
+ Inspects bus, records mileage and expenditures, and schedules/reports needed repairs in order to maintain bus in a safe operating condition.
+ Reports accidents and maintains required reports in order to document events and activities.
+ Picks up, transports, and discharges at established stops authorized students in order to comply with school policy and ensure student safety.
KNOWLEDGES AND RESPONSIBLITIES:
+ Knowledge of Maine Motor Vehicle laws.
+ Knowledge of local, state, and federal rules and regulations pertaining to school buses and drivers. Ability to maintain order and discipline on the bus.
+ Ability to communicate and work in a positive manner with staff and pupils.
+ Ability to perform minor maintenance and adjustments to bus.
+ Ability to lift independently objects weight up to 70 pounds.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent, 21 years of age, no criminal and driving violations. Maine Class B Motor Vehicle Operator’s License with CDL- passenger and school bus endorsement.
