Job Description

The Electrical Project Engineer provides electrical engineering and technical support of electrical construction phases including project controls, circuitry blueprint interpretation & compliance, contract compliance, scheduling, document control, and engineering means & methods. They also provide engineering input to the daily job log.

Job Responsibilities:

Assist in proper project planning, value-added engineering means & methods, developing work packages, preparing production indicators/benchmarks, and developing the master schedule.

Interpret electrical design/drawings/circuitry for installing electrical equipment, instrumentation, wiring, control systems including electrical system operations, troubleshooting, and performance testing.

Provide electrical construction technical support including voltage/amps specification, circuitry diagram analysis, and grounding.

Assist estimating of installation of various electrical systems, equipment selection, and proposal evaluation, requisitioning, and coordinating equipment delivery.

Interpret production goals from work packages to ensure daily communication of productivity goals is understood by crews executing the work.

Track progress of the major vendors and subcontractors to ensure that materials are manufactured and delivered.

Generate and maintain various informational logs, procurement reports, contract compliance listings, and correspondence with project client/owner.

Identify, document, and estimate costs of extra work of unanticipated activities.

Coordinate the transmittal and subsequent approval of all submittals to the Owner/Engineer.

Other duties as assigned/required.

Qualifications / Requirements:

BS Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience for the role.

Minimum of 5 years of heavy electrical construction engineering experience to include estimating, cost management, contract and subcontract administration, and project scheduling.

Understanding/experience with regulatory processes and permitting is a plus.

Possess excellent computer skills in Excel, Word, and familiarity with Mapping, GPS and/or CAD type software.

Detail-oriented with the ability to work collaboratively with external contractors and consultants.
