COMMUNITY HEALTH PROMOTION SPECIALIST
Health and Human Services Department - Chronic Disease Prevention – Public Health Division – Full-Time (37.5hours/week), Project Position - Seeking qualified individual for a full-time, project position to assist with a community-based healthy eating active living programs. This grant funded position is part of the City of Portland's Chronic Disease Prevention Program of the Public Health Division, Health and Human Services Department. This position will assist in implementing the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Education program with minority communities, schools and childcare sites throughout Portland and the Let’s Go! Program in Cumberland County. Experience in nutrition education and community outreach are required. Successful candidates will be energetic self-starters who are able to complete required tasks working independently. This Position requires a bachelor’s degree in a public health-related field or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training. Experience recruiting for and implementing multi-session nutrition education programs, specifically USDA programs, is strongly desired. Must have excellent written and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively. Offers of employment are contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory criminal background check. Pay range starting at $874.88/week ($23.33/hour).
