The Family Services Department at Community Concepts is excited to announce an opening for a Family Visitor position for the Maine Families program of Androscoggin/Oxford/Northern Cumberland Counties. This position is 40 hours a week and typically based out of our Canal Street office. At this time, we are offering a hybrid approach to visiting by providing some in person services and some remotely to ensure the safety of staff and families. Will require travel throughout Androscoggin County as well as parts of Oxford and/or Northern Cumberland Counties. Use of personal vehicle is required, with agency mileage reimbursement. Typical hours are between 8:00-4:30; however, occasional early evening hours may be necessary. This position offers new competitive wages.


The Maine Families Visitor ensures families in the designated coverage area have the support they need to foster optimal physical and emotional health and well-being for children and their parents. This is done by enhancing family functioning with a focus on increasing parent knowledge, family strengths, problem solving skills and family support systems. The family visitor will assist parents to develop advocacy skills both for themselves and their children, support parents as their child’s first and most important teachers, strengthen bonding and attachment between parents and children, and enhance parent’s knowledge of their child’s development and build positive parenting skills, by following the core beliefs and guiding philosophy outlined in the Maine Families Standards of Practice.
