Account Clerk Pay Range: $17.00 hourly

Account Clerk Schedule:  40 hours, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Mon - Fri

Account Clerk Start Date: ASAP


The Account Clerk position in Bangor, Maine is responsible for answering phones, assisting office visitors with their needs including standard forms, handles all mail, accepting and processing all payments including, property and excise taxes, sewer, and storm water payments, registrations for automobiles, all terrain vehicles, snowmobiles and boats, and assesses values and calculates tax data on all vehicles, and other duties that may be assigned. You will have a solid understanding of providing excellent customer service to all office visitors and assisting them with any needs they may have. Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to multitask, communicate effectively and efficiently, and be responsible for all payments and forms. This is a full time position.


Account Clerk Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent 

  • Previous municipal experience preferred but not required

  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment 

  • Ability to multitask

  • Ability to pass a background check

  • Strong attention to detail required

  • Strong customer service skills required

  • Cash handling experience required
