Cianbro Equipment LLC is a wholly-owned subsidiary of The Cianbro Companies, a large-scale construction corporation, headquartered in Pittsfield, Maine. Cianbro Equipment is responsible for managing all physical assets of The Cianbro Companies, including the equipment and tool rental fleet and all property locations as well as other assets. The Cianbro Equipment Safety Manager will be a critical role with responsibilities impacting all six Cianbro Equipment sites across five states as well as the greater Pittsfield Campus. Travel to sites is expected at least one week per quarter and all sites each year.
Responsible for all Safety Health and Wellness programs, initiatives, and improvements across a six-site (five states) organization.
Coach and mentor Safety Specialists, Supervisors, Superintendents, and Managers on all safety, health and wellness-specific tasks and topics.
Responsible for all Injury Management for all Cianbro Equipment sites; coordinate with the Cianbro Equipment site management and Corporate Disability Management. Oversee on-site Incident Investigations, root-cause analysis, and advise on Corrective Actions; make recommendations and implement long-term solutions.
Establish emergency planning and standards with Site Management and Corporate Safety, including identifying and developing relationships with local emergency and healthcare services, identifying warning signals, evacuation assembly points, and escape routes.
Assist Safety Supervisors in the establishment of modified duties for Team Members with work modifications.
Investigate new and specialized safety equipment and PPE for incorporation in company practices.
Analyze CAPP (Behavioral-based Safety) Market and Company trends, create sustainable corrective actions and communicate out to project teams.
Conduct daily inspections of job sites actively observing and providing feedback around the crew's work, tools, equipment, and planning to eliminate hazards and identify at-risk behavior; advise on and help ensure corrective actions are taken.
Assist with developing, conducting, and documenting the job site safety orientations for all new team members, subcontractors, and other appropriate vendors, visitors, etc.
Ensure compliance with all Safety, Health, and Environmental requirements per corporate, state and federal regulations.
Participate in all safety and environmental audits and ensure the completion of follow-up actions.
Bachelor's Degree - In a safety-related field + 3 years work experience in a management position or;
Associate degree - In a safety-related field + 5 years work experience in a management position or;
10+ years of work experience in a safety-related field holding positions of greater responsibility and scope.
CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required.
Exceptional management, communication, and organizational skills are required.
Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite.
CHST, OHST, STS, CSP, SMS, EMT certifications recommended.
SMS and CSP are recommend.
OSHA 30 is required. OSHA 500 recommended.
