Job Description

Reporting directly to the CFO of The Cianbro Companies, the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Leader plays a key role for the Company, piecing together a diverse and complex set of operational results in a way that can be understood and actioned by senior and operational leadership. The FP&A Leader will drive the forecasting and budget cycles of the company and play a key role in the monthly financial reporting process, providing insight and value-added analysis to both finance and operational team members to drive financial performance. This position will also lead and participate in Continuous Improvement efforts. Key responsibilities include analysis, interpretation, and reporting of the financial results for the company, including generation of board and external presentations.

 

Job Responsibilities:

Provide financial analysis for P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and related metrics, analyzing results and explaining key variances vs. Budget, Prior Forecast, Prior Year

Leads monthly forecasting and annual budget processes, providing linkage between senior leadership, finance, and operational teams

Plays key facilitation role in monthly closing, providing linkage between operations and accounting teams and processes

Develop and a Lean Finance project deck for FP&A and execute improvements

Lead financial presentation efforts for communication to board of directors and external parties such as banking and surety partners

Highlight key issues through simple communications and find creative ways to drive accountability

Manages, coaches, and develops financial analyst

Manages and maintains Risk & Opportunity analysis at the company level

Help develop and improve Cianbro financial framework and processes

Provides key analysis of overhead variances and improvement opportunities

Works with functional leaders on financial issues as assigned

Prepare monthly financial performance metrics and financial highlights memo

Key input for strategic plan related to Finance IT systems

Qualifications/Requirements:

Minimum of 7 years of experience in finance roles with a Bachelor's Degree

Excellent analytical skills. Ability to see the big picture while maintaining attention to detail

Demonstrated leadership skills and team player with the ability to facilitate

Ability to effectively communicate up and down organization both verbally and written

Results-focused individual with hands-on style committed to delivering high-quality work

Self-starter. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously

Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills with experience with financial systems
