Estimated Salary: $40,726 – $54,641
This position provides vocational rehabilitation services to adults with mental health, intellectual and physical disabilities residing in Androscoggin County. Typical duties include intake, determining eligibility for rehabilitation services, developing the Individual Plan for Employment and supporting individuals through Guidance and Counseling in a vocational program leading to an employment outcome. Frequent local travel and 0ccasional statewide travel is required.
+ Counsels clients in the rehabilitation process, develops a supportive relationship, and elicits client feedback and participation in order to provide rehabilitation services to clients.
+ Evaluates and interprets client’s medical and physical information, interviews and determines initial and continuing eligibility for services.
+ Assesses client needs and available resources to determine eligibility and develop and implement a comprehensive and individualized plan for employment.
+ Maintains accurate documentation using AWARE computer-based client data system.
+ Consults with representatives of schools, public and private agencies, and employers to coordinate training, treatment, counseling, job coaching, and related rehabilitation programs in order to assist clients towards successful employment.
+ Develops and manages a budget plan to ensure effective delivery of client services.
+ Explains rights of fair hearings and appeals and negotiates solutions and agreements with clients in order to meet client needs, agency goals, and minimize appeals.
+ Works closely with Support Staff, Case Managers, Rehabilitation Counselors, Job Developers, and Job Coaches to promote employment and ensure needs of the individual clients are met based on Federal and State mandated guidelines, and timeframes.
+ Collaborates with colleagues and partners to provide workshops, orientation sessions, job clubs and other group activities for clients.
A bachelor’s degree in a field related to vocational rehabilitation and 2 years of experience demonstrating knowledges and abilities in assisting individuals with disabilities, employers and other stakeholders with their employment and workforce needs.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team. Strong organization, prioritization, problem-solving, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are necessary.

The bi-weekly dollar values of some State-paid benefits include:
+ 13.16% of pay to retirement for bargaining unit positions
+ The value of State-paid Dental Insurance: $14.60 biweekly.
+ At least 85% of the health insurance premium for the employee (a minimum of $412.23). Participating in the Health Premium Credit Program can increase the state-paid amount by 5%. The level of the actual value of state paid Health Insurance will be based on the employee’s wage rate and status with regard to the health credit premium payment.
