Bowdoin College is seeking to add an Assistant Bursar to the Bowdoin team. This position will assist the Bursar in billing for tuition, disbursing student aid, and collecting money on behalf of the college. The Assistant Bursar will have back-fill responsibilities for the Cashier and will assist in the transition to new student billing software. This position requires independent problem-solving, creative thinking, attention to detail, and excellent diplomacy skills in working with students, parents, and administration. The ideal candidate desires to learn new software and has experience in higher education and/or accounting.

Education/Skills Requirements

A bachelor’s degree is strongly desired; will consider a combination of associates degree and relevant experience. Candidates should possess strong analytical, customer service and interpersonal skills, and be proficient with Microsoft Office suite (excel, word).

Experience Requirements and/or Equivalents

Accounting experience and/or experience with higher education preferred.

Standard Work Days and Hours

Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Salaried position requiring the time commitment necessary to satisfactorily complete job requirements.
